This post will be brief. It is my response to Kanye West’s DW fashion line debut at Paris Fashion Week. I seriously don’t know what all the fuss is about. I heard that the line was terrible so I went on line and took a peek. Terrible? No. Fully developed? Perhaps not. But it is his first foray into being a fashion designer of his own label. And when it comes to first endeavors in any field, my motto is only time will tell. Click to get a peek at some of the looks that hit the runway.
Not all designers, some who showed this year even and will remain nameless, had pleasing shows. But a man who has such creative personal style, shoe ushered in a wave of rappers looking dapper on and off the stage and who has worked for other fashion brands definitely has promise. Mr. West should be given room to grow. Honestly when I first saw the collection, I thought, if his first attempt is terrible just wait until he does his second attempt. I think all this negativity will push West to go back to the drawing board and reassess what is a step in the right direction. And when he does, well…..only time will tell.
