The Fall 2012 Woman

New York Fashion Week is giving us a wonderful snapshot of what the Fall 2012 fashion forward woman is going to look like. When I saw pictures from the shows that have walked already, two words immediately came to mind: subtle sexuality. After reading some articles and interviews from the designers themselves my intuition was confirmed.  Below I give you glimpses from the Oscar de la Renta and Vera Wang shows and details about the Fall 2012 woman.

The first thing you should know about Fall 2012 fashion is that over exposed bare skin is out. Think alluring, confident and ultra feminine. A bit of leather, sheer sleeves and tops, and peplum showed up on various runways.

According to CBSnews.com some of fashion's notables were quoted as saying this about the look for fall:

Coco Rocha: "If you have confidence and elegance, you don't need cleavage."
Tory Burch: "This is about understated sexy.
Vera Wang said she was going for "a sensual silhouette."
de la Renta who used colors like ice blue and light pink said, "I used colors you would not associate with winter, but today's woman doesn't dress for seasons."
