My Golden Globes Love It List:
1. Angelina Jolie: It actually took me going to sleep, wakng up and looking at this Zac Posen dress again for me to look it. During my second look I was able to appreciate the little touches Ms. Jolie took to make this dress stand out. The pops of red and the drapping make the dress stand out. The shoes are a perfect pairing and so is the clutch. And sidenote....how many women can pull off that unforgiving fabric.
2. Octavia Spencer: I loved this color on her and thought the silhouette was so flattering. She seemed so easy and beautiful in this Tadashi Shoji gown. Everything was just right, you know?
3. Reese Witherspoon: Three words...Va, Va, VOOM!!! I feel as though this was a slight departure form Reese's usual America's Sweetheart image. It can be a risk to break the mode, but with this fit, color and beachy Bridget Bardot hairstyle, it was a risk that paid off.
4. Sofia Vegara: I all in with this Vera Wang dress. The mermaid silhouette is my favorite and the dark teal color was beautiful against her skin tone. I do wish the hair would have been done another way.
My Meh List:
1. Jessica Biel: Perhaps Biel was playing off reports of her engagement with this Elie Saab bride like wedding dress but I disliked it. It looked grannyish on the top and showgirl like on the bottom. In this picture however it looks almost decent but on the TV it looked like a huge...NO!!! 2. Sarah Michelle Gellar: Le Sigh. Okay so I know that her two year old helped to pick out this Monique Lhuillier gown but really Ms. Gellar someone should have told you before you left the house. My reaction when I read this was, in online emoticon language.....0_o.
3. Madonna: This is the one person more so than anyone else that I felt fashion critics were being far too kind to. I know she's a music icon but really people let's be honest. This dress is not doing it for the Material Girl. I dislike her choice of adornments and the shape and style of this Reem Acra dress. But I heard several critics go on about how beautiful she looked. I must say her simplistic make up was refreshing to see on the red carpet.
4. Michelle Williams: I am just going to say this, I love Michelle Williams since her days on Dawson's Creek, but I really expected to see more form the woman who just played and got nominated for playing Marilyn Monroe. This Jason Wu dress is dull and ages her. I would have like her in something that evoked old hollywood glamour. Quick thought for fun: What if her and Jane Fonda had switched dress, lol?
Well that does it, there's my raves and rants for the Golden Globes 2012. Love and Fashion, Giselle.
